Abia State Governorship Election Declared Inconclusive

The Abia state governorship election, held on April 11, has been declared inconclusive.

Prof Benjamin Ozumba, the returning officer for Abia state, made the declaration on April 13, The Punch reports.

Speaking in Umuahia on Monday, the official explained that the decision was made because the total number of registered voters in areas where elections were not held or where elections were cancelled, was higher than the margin of difference between the two leading candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressive Grand Alliance
