Sunderland Lift Adam Johnson Ban

Sunderland had banned winger, Adam Johnson
after the England international was arrested and
accused of having sexual activities with a 15 year old
girl but the club have lifted the ban.

Johnson was arrested early in march which led to
his suspension from the club but the club has
reinstated the player and his bail has been extended
till the 23 of April. Johnson is still under
investigation but the player is now allowed to play
for his club as announced in a statement released by
the club “The club has discussed the current
position in detail with both the PFA and Adam’s
representatives,” it said. “In line with those
discussions we recognize that the player is entitled
to re-commence his duties with the club while the
legal process continues. He will therefore return to
training. The club’s own investigation cannot
continue until the conclusion of the legal process.
Sunderland AFC will make no further comment on
the matter due to the ongoing police investigation.”

Adam Johnson might now be available for Dick
Advocaat’s managerial debut at Sunderland on
satruday as Sunderland look to fight out of the
relegation zone.
