Gowon, who was represented by Ahmed Joda.
Most of the governors sent their representatives.
Though as a face-saving measure Yero represented the Vice
President at the event.
It was gathered at the event that ‘bad weather’ prevented the
vice president’s flight from landing.
Last year, Sambo attended the event, where he showcased
the laudable programmes and the achievements of the
President Goodluck Jonathan Transformation Agenda.
Reports said that the vice president’s absence might not be
unconnected with the open endorsement of the All
Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Maj-Gen.
Muhammadu Buhari(retd.) as the candidate of the region
against Jonathan in the March 28 election.
